This holiday season has had more “winter wonderland” weddings than ever before! It makes sense. Every year around this time we love to cozy up with our loved ones and celebrate the holiday season. So naturally, December is a GREAT time to have all your loved ones near to celebrate your marriage. Here are some of our favorite ideas to spruce up your holiday wedding and make it that much more original:
When it comes to colors and centerpieces, you can’t go wrong with adding a little "Christmas" feel to a December wedding. We, personally, love evergreen and holly and berries. The holly and berries look really helps set that Christmas-y mood when it comes to simple floral add-ons. Whether it’s for boutonnieres or table decor, nothing says “Christmas time” more than this mother nature duo! The evergreen fraser firs just give it that extra special winter feel. My favorite colors palettes include gold and beige with emerald accents, however, deep red with winter white look great too. Stick to the colors you see around the holidays, especially when doing a December wedding.

When it comes to the florals and decorations, some in-expensive ways to cut out costs around this time is to have a church ceremony. Most of the time, churches will already be decorated for Christmas. Lots of poinsettias! This cuts the cost of setting up decorations for a ceremony. As for the reception decorations, use things you can find outside, like pine cones and branches. You can spruce them up on your own, and still make great accents and centerpieces!
A cute and simple way to make your winter wedding original: S’MORE BAR!! S’more what?! Whether it’s having a small bonfire outside your venue (something you must discuss with your venue) or just renting some burners (also O.K. with your venue for open flames). It’s something fun for your guests to do while adding some flare to your dessert. No pun intended….ok, maybe it was intended ;)

The uses of pine cones and branches here really bring an outdoorsy rustic feel that we like a lot.

We had to include these pieces as well. They are simple, yet whimsical. These looks are more Meredith’s planning style.
